Draw to Heal: My Pastel Nagomi Art Journey

Like an average 9-to-5 white collar, I used to live a very hectic life, working a lot overtimes chasing one thing after another. Life was overwhelming. 😣 Tried to meet expectations from family and from workplace etc. Almost lifeless. I wasn't happy. I was a bit lost in my life. Every year I tried to pamper myself with a getaway holiday, I thought it was want I wanted. However, at the end of every journey, tears kept falling out of my eyes. 😭 I realised how much I didn't want to go back to my daily routines.
Even so, I ignored any symptom come out of me and my physical body until I got to a point of total emotional breakdown.
I went to GPs, they only prescribed antidepressants to me. I felt it wasn't a way out so I kept looking for all sorts of therapies and healings. I also learnt to meditate and try to find my own rhythm. Keep looking for remedies that suit me. Until 2018, I met Pastel Nagomi Art. ✨
Indeed, at that point, I hadn't picked up any art since I left school. But I was totally adored to Nagomi Art when I saw it and I enrolled for the JPHAA Pastel Nagomi Art Associate Instructor Course straightaway. It took me 3 weekends to learn from hard pastel basics and finish the 20 pieces of art. I found lots of joy and happiness from the art and that reminded me of the same kind of enjoyment from art when I was little. What's more unique is that Nagomi Art use hands and fingers to apply colour pigments on a drawing paper, that is super relaxing and chill. It was really what I need - just to relax!🌸

I was totally obsessed with Nagomi Art. I forgot what made me starting hosting Nagomi workshops after the Associate Instructor Course and why I was so brave. But you know, when you find your real passion, you'd naturally love to engage more time with it. My life also started shifting then. I quitted my original full time role, getaway from the toxic boss, changed to an easier role and no more working overtime. It also gave me more time back to do what I really enjoyed. 💖
As I draw more, do things that I love and listen to myself more, I feel my heart is gradually healing. Now, I'm a full time Pastel Nagomi Art Advanced Instructor and continue to share my story. ❤️🔥
I hope you will find your passion very soon.🥰
